The Birthday Boy
Today was Noah's 1 year birthday. No big fanfare or crazy parties, we kept it small, just Mom (aka ma-ma), Dad (aka DA) and Nana, but there sure were a ton of presents. Noah loved the cake...at least he loved the frosting. We'll follow up with some more pictures from the day later in the week (especially his new wheels, which he loves), but we didn't want to let the sun set without posting happy birthday wishes.

It still fits!
Nate and my six year wedding anniversary is in two weeks and I finally took out my wedding dress to see if it still fits. I know that many brides clean and preserve their dresses after their big day but I got the idea from somewhere to try and fit into my dress every year. I did not even attempt to try it on last year since Noah was only two weeks old and I must admit that I was nervous I would not be able to zip up the zipper this year. All I can say is thank goodness for empire waste dresses!

Lets Play
Today I watched one of Nate's co-worker'ss little boy named Elijah. With all of the toys we have at the apartment the boys have liked to play with the pots and pans.

Happy Birthday Caitlyn and Lyndsay!
Happy Birthday (even though it is late) to my nieces Caitlyn and Lyndsay! They both turned twelve on the tenth(it is amazing to me how much they both have grown over the past twelve years)! The picture is of Caitlyn and me during our most recent visit to NH; I could not find one of Lyndsay to post so I will have to get one from their grandmother :-).
I love you both and miss you very much!

It's that simple!
Have you ever struggled with the same sin over and over? I am sure that anyone who reads this will have to answer yes. It is so frustrating to me when I find myself dealing with the same issues over and over. The Lord has recently reminded me of how powerful His word is and that I must have it on my heart at all times if I am to have any victories!
I have been struggling with making the most of my time; it is so easy to turn the tv on when Nate is at work and I'm alone at night and just relax on the couch. Every morning I would determine that I would not turn the tv on when Noah went down for the night and it seemed that every night I would have to confess to God that I had wasted my time. I just recently put two verses on note cards and taped them to our tv. The first is I John 5:21 "Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts." and the second is Psalm 119:37 "Turn my eyes away from worthless things, preserve my life according to your Word." If I want to turn the tv on I have to remove those verses and make the decision to disobey God. I have found that I have kept the tv off! God's word is my sword and it does kill sin! I am so thankful that God is patient with me!

Thanks Zachary!
When we were in NH my nephew gave Noah all of his Little People that he no longer plays with; we had to bring a suitcase home just to fit them all! Thanks Zachary for sharing with Noah!!

During our visit to NH went went out to dinner and Nate decided to give Noah some of his lemon (Noah went through two lemons)!
